Monday~From a Newborn to a New World...OR "What a Difference a Day Makes"!

When I left for work yesterday morning (Monday), the pups had just finished nursing and were fast asleep.  Over the weekend, their eyes had started to open to about 1/2 way and their little legs were getting stronger every day...a few steps, wobble, fall over.


When I arrived home Monday evening, I was greeted by a almost a whole new litter it seemed.  They all had their eyes fully open and were moving about.


There were lots of sitting puppies, walking puppies and curious puppies for sure!  I'll try to post a video tonight; but, meanwhile, here is a photo of one puppy trying to make a getaway.

Day Four

Puppies have all gained weight each day.  All were 13 & 14 oz at birth.  At day 4 they are 18 - 20 oz.

Puppies Have Arrived

Zoe whelped a beautiful litter of five pups yesterday.  2 yellows and 3 blacks.  I will verify their sexes tomorrow as yesterday what I "thought" we had isn't accurate.   Today, I believe we may have all boys.  Oh boy!

Final Week

Also taken on 08-10-11 (smelled an old bird
nest in the tree)...she tried jumping in
the tree right after this was taken and after
"pointing" it out to us-she's getting in position to leap here.
